[music]: tatu - not gonna get us
[mood]: exhausted. state of mind indicated by profile pic to yr left.
[current away msg]: holdin out for a hero.. a hero to save me from my english essay.. who will come on a horse and stab me in the head and prevent me from going to school tmrw ~ to the tune of FROU FROU's "holdin on for a hero" [which is a good song, btw]

siiiiigh.. notice I've been updating less and less. Of course, when I stay up to work on school stuff, I'm suddenly am inspired to go update on Xanga =P ah sigh, miserable miserable plight of procrastinating. seriously, I think I'm just sitting here, firmly believing that my essay will magically finish itself, but from what I can see, it's not happening. For shame. shiiiiez, I'm all bleary.

anyway, the break was good, even though it felt oddly v. short; hope it was fun for everyone :) i got to watch i heart huckabees, which ok, wasn't the most understandable movie, i give you that, but had the benefit of jude law, who can magically cure any plothole [WHO AM I KIDDING? this movie was SO bizarre I could've been high and I wouldn't have known the difference..]. but funny, very funny--I actually want the DVD, believe it or not =P let it be known that the intelligent opinion CAN be swayed by visual aid. allala.

i went to union to visit my cousin on thursday, visited University of Penn. on Friday, which was pretty neat~ I've probably raved abt this too much already, but the buildings look like castles! I was expecting buildings along the similar vein of NY's, you know, square, blocky, and fairly English boring, but the castles were a nice touch. a VERY nice touch. The campus was gorgeous, if a bit bombarded with imagery of Ben Franklin overrr and overrr again. umm yeah, so UPenn definitely going on my list. I just threw in Tufts, Brown, and Boston U for the heckuvit.

---

current brain landscape:
critic: OMG... I missed early app for Upenn by a day..
the voice of reason: yeah.. well too late to worry about it..you could've done it! but you didn't.. whatever, just make it in time for the actual app.
critic: BUT OMFG NOW YOU HAVE NO CHANCE. did you hear what they SAID about the acceptance rate of regular application?
the voice of reason: chuttup. seriously. chuttup. add not to the fire.
critic: --I mean what the hell do you have to offer any university but your procrastinating little arse? you certainly don't have any serious credentials.. you haven't been packing your transcript with fun stuff like clubs & other miscelleous community services, you are like the antithesis of school spirit & ambition, and your record for attendance isn't exactly.. spotless. ....and why didn't you join team sports when you could've?  what's with your SAT score? don't think you could've paid a bit more attention in your SAT classes, even if the math teacher was a self-satisfied bint? why did you drop piano? is it too good for you? do you think you're ..FUNNY??
the voice of reason: *small voice* umm. yesterday i accused my dad very angrily for not being george bush's dad ...
critic: *silence*
voice of reason: *d34d*

yep.. all is not well in panicland. But this will be over soon hopefully, because this week, in a surge of last-minute ambition, I WILL 0WN U COLLEGE APPZ. OWN UR 4SS.

Friday nite, went to my cousin's football game cuz she's in marching band and sat through 2 (?) exciting hours in which several players got injured, and a lot of ballyhoo involving ambulances scurrying onto the field went down. My first display of school spirit (at another school, yes), and already blood was involved. hmm. I knew football was a dangerous sport, but not dangerous enough to warrant the respectful kneeling of an entire fball team..imagine chilling to death on the cruel metal of bleaches, watching dispassionately a row of purple (OKAY. MAROON. =) arses facing you. But I had fun anyway.

So what else... must extend time between entry and actually working... oh yeah, ripped thru the manga series of HOT GIMMICK. Surprisingly good.. and very very shoujo =P naive girl protagonist, object of 3 guys' affections, your usual fare. But addictive. I might actually shell out money for it. will review when manga obtained.

Man.. I have so much crap manga that I've bought and regret.. and always whenever I put my hand on the manga and say, "I can sense that this is going to be a good one". planning to auction them off at the anime film festival this upcoming month. Maybe I should sell at very cheap prices--$6? *___* That along with all other miscellania-- wallscrolls [Lain, Vampire Hunter D], random binder slip-ins [Saiyuki], etc. Right, that was blatant advertising. Please take something off my hands x__x

Chinese school sucked so bad this week. As did work. Did so bad on this humongous exam that our teacher only gave us 30 minutes for-- unbelievable. Our entire class, aside from this one girl newly imported from China, failed, even after working overtime in class. I seriously hate this class--I don't learn anything and it makes me feel stupid because I'm chinese and I have to ask what basic words mean.

Anyway, my boss @ work had a really bad cold--hopefully I won't come down w/ it. The bar was especially packed with smoking patrons, and all the cig smoke made me sick to my stomach. Smoking... in ...buildings.. needs to be.. BANNEd. No hogging all the clean air..or, what at least passes for "clean"..

ok I'm done, no more putting off. *sad saxophone notes floating*

You know you want to.. PUSH MY PENGY :D

my pet!

WARNING SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES AHEAD.

and. needless to say, it is 10:30 and oddly I value my sleep more than my English essay. Jesus I swear to god I have become a 79 year old man. TMI. And I wrote this in my pitas already but it bears repeatingggg... *smirk* What to do when your mom is watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart for the news on the current election? Do you tell her it's a COMEDY CHANNEL SHE'S WATCHING?

about this election: every time I'm convinced one candidate is better for our country, something comes up and makes me think otherwise. Kerry is definitely more well-spoken than Bush, and Bush is a cool bar buddy, but AGH.  http://www.freeipods.com/default.aspx?referer=9906248
I don't agree when people say Bush is a total dumbass, because I feel like most people reach that conclusion cuz it's the popular sentiment. well what do I know. Maybe the entire population has become enlightened o_O ... if... I mean, EVIDENTLY I don't kno my politix as well as I should    -_-
http://www.freeipods.com/default.aspx?referer=9906248 but this IS the most hyped and important election.. or at least important enough to wake the majority of people out of their voting apathy. .. gahh damn you well-spoken people with good arguments. http://www.freeipods.com/default.aspx?referer=9906248 Ok I'll shut up or I'll overwhelm you with my apparent miseducation.

you know what we need? a Sorting Hat for all presidential candidates with a nifty shiny little tape recorder attached to the brim. ughh.. why am I saying this today? Today is ELECTION Day..

I am an instrument of evil =P I've done the bad and rigged my parents' votes. http://www.freeipods.com/default.aspx?referer=9906248 I know the solution to America's problem... http://www.freeipods.com/default.aspx?referer=9906248how about... VOTE ME FOR PREZ? in one single-handed swoop, in one murder of the two birds in a bush (hee), we overcome two monumental hurdles in America's presidential history--racial and sexual. I, for one, am pure American citizen and don't have ANY secret spy alliances with china; and what more, I too can send our national budget reeling into the red and destroy environments whenever PMS rolls around. :D I could be like.. SuperPres. http://www.freeipods.com/default.aspx?referer=9906248

bought inks today at Pearle's--honestly, how sadistic is Pearle's? flaunting all expensive aargh pricey products before your eyes, KNOWING you don't have the will to fork over 2 dollars for a prismacolor marker? http://www.freeipods.com/default.aspx?referer=9906248 I mean. really.. -- and hedonistic # of sketchbooks. *__*

...OMGOMG omg. how long is this list of history terms?! *froths* methinks some insane paper demon is adding on new items whenever I look away..if I nab that papery little shit.. http://www.freeipods.com/default.aspx?referer=9906248 *scuffling noise in background*

why hullo! i am mutey, short for "mutated M&M". DON'T EEAAAT ME.

***

categorizing the chinese language:

-cantonese: the "cool" chinese. represented by a 20s lady flapper inhaling a cig. think brigitte lin.

-mandarin: ehhh, average. neither pretty or grating.

-fuzhounese: the "hick" chinese. second generation american chinese mutes the grinding syllables with their american pronounciation, dulls the pain. epitomized by loud chatty obnoxious middle-aged women, like gaggle of geese. purely industrial bare bone dialect. reason why there exists little to none poetry/art utilizing this language--save for drinking songs. jiu gang tah mei mo.

THE GRUDGE is a very cheesely told story.. but scary nonetheless. i've never watched an entire movie covering my eyes like that. once again, another movie hits everyone's freudian spots: hair [yes, why IS long black asian hair so scary?], little cute dead boys, weird guttural noises, corpses in closets, curses, hands materializing out of heads.. blah blah blah..

i need a nice long draught of motivation one oh one. maybe this mutated M&M shall imbue me with magical motivation powah! but no.. i shall cherish it. it shall be my baby. it'll help me ace my history test. OMG.. this winamp station is playing a chinese cover of brown eye's "already one year" O__O uh.. or is it that one? whichever one that says "i believe in you".
